This week’s “Fun Friday” kicked off on a heartfelt note as Kevin McCullough and Cristyne Nicholas paid tribute to the late Bernie Kerik, former NYPD Commissioner and all-around New York legend. Kevin shared personal stories of Bernie’s generosity and grit, while Cristyne reflected on his legacy and their shared history from the Giuliani administration. It was a touching moment that reminded listeners of the big heart behind the badge.

But in true “Fun Friday” fashion, the show pivoted from tears to Tonys! TheaterMania’s Zachary Stewart returned for his third appearance (still no jacket, though!) to dish on the hottest shows of the Broadway season. With record-breaking box office numbers and a buffet of new musicals, revivals, and plays, Broadway is back and bolder than ever.

Zach highlighted the surprise snubs (sorry, Denzel and Jake!) and the unexpected hits, like the quirky and heartfelt Korean robot musical “Maybe Happy Ending.” He also spotlighted “Oh Mary,” a hilarious historical spoof, and “Purpose,” a powerful family drama. The Tony race is tight, and love might just win the night.

The musical “Dead Outlaw” also got a shoutout for its wild true-crime-meets-country-rock vibe. Meanwhile, “Gypsy” and “Sunset Boulevard” are battling it out in the revival category. Zach’s hot take? “Gypsy” might just shimmy away with the win.

Then it was time to unleash the cuteness! Michelle Leifer from the Schwartzman Animal Medical Center joined to promote “Paw Day,” a pet-friendly extravaganza with scent games, clicker training, and even a watermelon-coconut mocktail for dogs—served in a martini glass with a biscuit rim. Yes, really.

The episode wrapped with Knicks fever, Mets pride, and a surprise Darryl Strawberry sighting. Whether you're into Tonys, terriers, or touchdowns, this episode had something for everyone. New York is buzzing, and “Fun Friday” captured it all with heart, humor, and a whole lot of flair.
