This episode of Fun Friday was a delicious dive into all things sweet, savory, and sensational in New York City. Hosts Kevin McCullough and Cristyne Nicholas kicked things off with a nostalgic nod to presidential dessert preferences—Reagan’s jelly beans and Biden’s vanilla ice cream—before teasing the upcoming National Ice Cream Day and NYC’s Summer Restaurant Week.

Tiffany Townsend from NYC Tourism joined the show to dish out the details on the 2025 Summer Restaurant Week, which kicks off July 21. With over 600 participating restaurants across all five boroughs, diners can enjoy prix fixe menus at $30, $45, or $60. Highlights include Café Carmellini’s debut and Grand Brasserie’s elegant offerings inside Grand Central. Tiffany also gave a shoutout to Melba’s new Midtown location and the city’s culinary diversity.

Kevin shared his own foodie adventure at the Louis Vuitton Café, where haute cuisine meets haute couture. He and his wife scored a coveted reservation and indulged in a meticulously branded meal—complete with logo-stamped sherbet. The couple also celebrated with a custom-stamped Louis Vuitton passport holder, adding a stylish twist to their upcoming Rome trip.

Then came dessert—literally. Katie “Gingerbread” Ford from the Museum of Ice Cream brought the sugar rush, explaining how the museum blends education, play, and unlimited ice cream. From a two-story slide to savory-sweet pink bagels with soft-serve cream cheese, the museum is a whimsical wonderland for all ages. Plus, it’s expanding to Las Vegas!

The episode wrapped with weekend tips, including a Mets vs. Reds game, a historical exhibit on dining in transit, and a reminder to check out NYC Tourism’s “Founded By” campaign celebrating the city’s 400th anniversary. Whether you're a foodie, history buff, or sprinkle enthusiast, this episode had something for everyone.
