The California professor who insulted former First Lady Barbara Bush after her death will not be disciplined.

Fresno State University English professor Randa Jarrar tweeted last week after reports of Bush's death that, among other things, the former First Lady was an "amazing racist" who "raised a war criminal."

Fresno State President Joseph Castro says the university has completed a review of the case and it shows the embattled professor didn't violate any CSU or university policies.

He says her comments, although disgraceful, are protected free speech under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

He also says no disciplinary action will be taken.
