It is amazing what you will find if you are determined to expose the victim within you—rather than determined to protect it. But let me warn you that the “victim” is the most protected species on the planet. You will get little support in trying to expose a victim mentality within yourself or anyone else. We protect our victims. We honor our victims. We even immortalize our victims.

The article goes through many examples of scriptural prayer throughout the Bible and shows conclusively that we should not approach God searching for ecstasies.
