Savannah Bananas Coach, Adam Virant, Shares the Power of God in His Life

Adam Virant is a coach for the Savannah Bananas and Director of Baseball Operations. His love for the sport and dreams to join the major leagues started at a young age while being raised in Nebraska. Virant is clear that his path to the Savannah Banana’s is one that, without the power of God, would have never happened. Although he loves baseball, he loves the fans more. “We have a fan who comes to some of our games, and she challenges the team and me to chase the energy.” For Virant, there is no way that he could chase that energy without the skills and talent that God has given him.

When joining the organization, he dove headfirst into helping with the turf and learning about the complexity of it. Virant came to the team when many didn’t even know who the Bananas were, and was the sixth full-time employee when they hired him.

Adam’s career has taken him from managing restaurants to litigating civil rights cases to running NYC’s largest youth sports program—and now to building, coaching, and helping lead the most entertaining team in baseball. Each transition helped sharpen what Adam brings to the table and clarified what truly energizes him at work. Virant traded in his law books for a baseball glove and never looked back!
