Two of the youngest victims of the deadly D.C. airplane crash have been identified as Angela Yang and Sean Kay – a duo that has been described as an up-and-coming youth ice skating team with a bright future.

Yang and Kay were on the flight back from the US Figure Skating Championships and National Development Camp in Wichita, Kansas, with their coach – when their plane crashed into an Army helicopter on Wednesday night.

Video has surfaced of the pair’s final performance as they won first place in several categories in the 2025 Midwestern Sectional Singles & U.S. Ice Dance in Plano, Texas, in November.

Yang was inspired to get into the sport by her siblings who play hockey, and Kay got into ice dance with his brother. US Figure Skating confirmed that several skaters, coaches and their family members were onboard the flight — including a pair of teenage figure skaters, their mothers and two highly-regarded Russian figure skating coaches.

The chief executive at the Skating Club of Boston, said that skaters Jinna Han and Spencer Lane were among those killed, along with coaches Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov. U.S. Figure Skating previously confirmed that several skaters, coaches and family members were on the commercial flight after attending a development camp that followed the national championships, which wrapped up Sunday in Wichita, Kansas.
