Officials say the United States Naval Academy in Maryland is on lockdown as law enforcement respond to reports of threats made to the military school. The spokesperson for the base that hosts the academy said the military academy in Annapolis was working with local law enforcement on Thursday to respond to the reports of threats. Lt. Naweed Lemar said, “The base is on lockdown out of an abundance of caution." Police were near Bancroft Hall, which houses midshipmen in its more than 1,600 dorm rooms.

President Donald Trump is attending Thursday night's New York Yankees game in the Bronx to mark the 24th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Yankees Manager Aaron Boone says he's excited about Trump's visit and the president may pop by the team's locker room. The president said he plans to speak with Kirk’s family on Thursday afternoon, and Vice President JD Vance is traveling to Utah Thursday to meet with Kirk’s family in person. “They have a virtual manhunt out there.
