Plain and Simple is a brand-new collection of diverse songs written by Crystal, her husband Brian Ray, and both of their children, making this a true family affair. Her son, Solomon, arranged and produced the project, while her daughter, Izzi, co- wrote and contributed vocally on several tracks. "Working with family definitely brings its challenges. For example, I occasionally had to remind Solomon that even though he was the producer, I was still his mom so I got final say! It was the ultimate win/win!" jokes Crystal. "But seriously, I can't begin to explain the blessing of working with my kids. I've always worked with Brian, but the contributions of Solomon and Izzi have far exceeded my expectations. They are both far beyond where I was at their ages". The songs on Plain and Simple are crafted with elements that represent both Crystal's roots in RnB as well as incorporating the new and the now.
