Hands-On Faith for Families – Week of May 18, 2026

Theme: Christ Is Lord of My Thoughts

Scripture: Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23, 24)

Play: Take turns playing a game of “20 questions.” One player thinks of an object. The other players can ask up to 20 yes-or-no questions to try to guess what it is. Let everyone have a turn thinking of an object.

Talk: God doesn’t have to ask us questions to understand what we’re thinking. He knows us inside and out, from our favorite colors to our greatest fears. That means Jesus knows our good thoughts and our sinful thoughts, too. If we allow Him to, Jesus can help us have good attitudes and think kind thoughts about others. Psalm 139:23-24 says, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Is there something on your mind that you need to turn over to Jesus?

Pray: Ask that Jesus would lead you to think good thoughts.
